Introducing our exquisite wheel-thrown mini cups, handcrafted with care in Far North Queensland by the incredibly talented duo at VillageLore Pottery.

Designed exclusively for Soma Cacao enthusiasts, these cups are a modern tribute to the jicaras—traditional Mexican cacao vessels originally crafted from the Calabash tree.

Each cup is unique, with subtle variations that highlight the artistry and individuality of handmade craftsmanship, and includes an imprint of our trademark Soma Cacao cup icon.

Note: each cup is sold individually, price is per cup. 

Sizes available:

  • Small: approx 150mL* (suitable for those who like their cacao short - like a macchiato. Best suited for cacao ceremonies). 
  • Medium: approx 200mL* (small cappuccino).
  • Large: approx 250mL* (more standard cup size- regular latte or flat white). 

*As each cup is handcrafted, slight variations in size may occur. Volume measurements are approximate.

Soma's wholesome, hand-made signature cup is the best way to drink the decadent Soma Cacao. I love it!!!

Beautiful, but thin

I have and use both the small and medium cups. I love the shape and the swirling design and the tactile feel of the smooth glaze and raw finish clay. They are beautiful and cosy to cup in your hands. However, I do find that the cacao goes cold quickly in the small cup, and that they are both quite thin-walled and thus, very hot to handle initially. I like to drink my cacao hot during a quiet ceremony and find that generic handle-free mugs keep my cacao hotter for longer without burning my hands. This is my only real qualm, though. Still love them both. Would still recommend both, but handle with care.
